This Discipline is a science that studies the relationship between structure and function, evolution and regulation of the systems. It is an emerging comprehensive and interdisciplinary subject. It adopts the principles and methods of system theory and closely integrates modern tools such as modern mathematics and information science and technology; And studies the complex systems in the social, economic, engineering and other fields as the research objects, explores the nature and evolution rule of complex systems systematically and holistically, with the purpose of revealing the commonalities of various systems and the common laws followed in the evolutionary process, and to develop, optimize and control system approaches, and further to provide a theoretical basis for the application of system science in the social, economic, engineering and other fields. Its main disciplines include system theory, system analysis and integration, and modeling and control of complex systems, covering the basic theories and application of system science at two levels.
The Discipline in our university with modern mathematics as the theoretical basis and computer technology as the basic tool, has formed a subject feature that enjoys a high degree of integration of mathematical theory and information science. Having a young and middle-aged academic team, including those of National Model Workers, Chongqing College and University Outstanding Talents, Young and Middle-Aged Backbone Teachers in Chongqing etc. In the recent five years, it has undertaken more than 40 scientific research projects at provincial and ministerial level, including the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and published over 100 papers in SCI Journal, including 7 papers highly cited by ESI.
