The 9th International Communication Conference in China (ICCC) 2020 Held in CQUPT
From August 9th to 11th, 2020, the 9th International Communication Conference in China, sponsored by IEEE, IEEE ComSoc and China Communication Society, and hosted by Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications and Chongqing University, was held in our university. This academic conference adopted the form of virtual online, which was open to experts, scholars and authors from all over the world through the network platform. Chen Zhaoxiong, chairman of China Communications Society, Wu Hequan and Yang Shizhong, academicians of Chinese Academy of Engineering, served as honorary chairmen of the conference.
On the morning of August 10th, the opening ceremony of the 9th International Communication Conference in China 2020 was held, and a live broadcast venue was set up in Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications. Zhang Yanchuan, vice president and secretary general of the Chinese Society of Communications, Gao Xinbo, President of Chongqing University of Posts and telecommunications, and Vincent Chan, chairman of IEEE ComSoc, attended and addressed the opening ceremony. Shen Xuemin, member of the Royal Academy of Sciences, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, IEEE fellow and Professor Niu Zhisheng of Qinghua University, IEEE fellow, academician of Japanese Academy of Engineering and Professor Nei Kato of Northeast University attended the opening ceremony in the form of recording and live broadcasting. The opening ceremony was presided over by Vice President Chen Qianbin.
At the opening ceremony, Gao Xinbo made a speech on behalf of CQUPT. He pointed out that China International Communication Conference 2020 was held in the form of online, with high standard and the large number of guests invited, in which there were links for enterprises and universities to display themselves that had strengthened the interaction between academia and industry. It was an academic and technological event in the field of communication and technology. It was also a grand gathering for teachers, especially young scholars in the field of communication information and artificial intelligence, a rare opportunity to learn and exchange.
In the keynote speech session, Abbas Jamalipour, academician of Australian Academy of Sciences and professor from Sydney University, Professor Zhi Ding from University of California Davis, Professor You Xiaohu from Southeast University and Professor Jenq Neng Hwang from University of Washington were invited. Tang Zhenfei, the chief technical expert of Huawei, delivered a technical report to the participants around the theme of the conference, and the contents of his report include frontier topics such as 5G cellular connection through intelligent edge computing and air support, large-scale MIMO and deep learning matching, technological potential from Shannon theory to future 6G, joint exploration of mobile edge of large-scale IOT data in the smart city, 5G evolution and transcendence, etc.
After years of development, International Communication Conference in China (ICCC) had become one of the most important international conferences in the field of communication in China. The conference aimed to provide a high-end frontier communication platform for researchers, engineers and professionals in the field of world communication and network, and discussed and exchanged multi-level and high-quality research results. With the theme of “making connection more intelligent”, ICCC 2020 received 562 academic papers from more than 20 countries and regions in the world, with the largest number of contributions over the years. After strict review, 280 papers were finally accepted. At the same time, the conference set up 8 cutting-edge technology forums, 7 technical seminars and 6 research exchanges, and invited 8 international well-known communication experts represented by IEEE Fellow as special guests for technical exchange and discussion. The conference brought together nearly 500 experts and scholars from the United States, Canada, Japan, Singapore and other places around the world through online means to share the atmosphere of high-end academic exchange.
On the afternoon of August 11th, the closing ceremony of the conference was held in the form of full online, presided over by Nei Kato, chairman of the Conference and academician of the Japanese Academy of Engineering. Chen Qianbin, on behalf of our university, expressed his gratitude to the organizers and the teachers and students of the organizers for their hard work. He fully affirmed the success of the conference and the construction of our high-end international exchange platform. At the closing ceremony, the evaluation results of excellent papers of the conference were also read out, and Xiamen University, the host university of the next conference, was invited to give a university presentation.
The successful holding of this conference will effectively promote the development of communication information technology and AI application, enhance the climbing plan of Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications to promote the construction of its first-class discipline, implement the positioning of “One Place, and Two Highlands", and help the international exchange and cooperation development platform of frontier science and technology of preponderant disciplines.
