CQUPT Continues to Hold the Champion of "China University Computer Competition--Big Data Challenge 2020"
From August 28 to 30, 2020, the national final of “China University Computer Competition--Huawei Cloud Big Data Challenge 2020” was held in Shenzhen. The team composed of Zhou Yang and Luo Jie, 2019 postgraduates of our university’s Key Laboratory of Data Engineering and Visual Computing, and Huang Cong, a 2019 graduate of Peking University, stood out among the 1,491 teams in China, having won the championship and prize of 150,000 yuan, and Professor Wang Jin was awarded the excellent instructor award. This is also the second consecutive year after 2019 that our school has won the championship in the domestic top competition in the field of big data algorithm.
There were also three teams in the final of the competition, of which Zhu Lang and Huang Le, 2018 undergraduates of data science and big data technology, and Liu Zichuan from Wuhan University of Technology won the 8th place in the final; Deng Mingxin and Liang Chen, 2019 postgraduates, Peng Yifan from University of Electronic Science and Technology won the 10th place; Ma Menghan and Guo Hao, 2019 postgraduates, won the 10th place; the team composed of Pu Linyue from East China Normal University won the 13th place. The four teams of our university won a total of 175,000 yuan.
“China University Computer Competition--Huawei Cloud Big Data Challenge 2020” attracted 4,133 undergraduates from all over the world to participate. The competition was divided into four stages: warm-up, preliminary, second round and final. After four months of promotion, 15 teams from Tsinghua University, Peking University, Xi’an Jiaotong University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, University of Electronic Science and Technology, East China Normal University, and Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications entered the final.
This big data challenge competition was sponsored by the National Institute of Computer Education of Colleges and Universities, China Artificial Intelligence Society, jointly organized by Tsinghua University, China Artificial Intelligence Society and Huawei Technology Co., Ltd., and supported by Huawei Cloud and Beijing National Research Center for Information Science and Technology. It was a global open high-end algorithm competition based on real enterprise scenarios and actual data. This competition provided the historical waybill GPS data, historical waybill event data and port coordinate data corresponding to 18,000 sea waybills as training data. It was required to establish models through machine learning and deep learning to accurately predict the arrival time of goods in 25,000 test waybills. With the deep technical accumulation of the Key Laboratory of Data Engineering and Visual Computing in the field of machine learning and data engineering, our university’s team explored and proposed the neural factorization machines (NFM) + deep learning model for shipping prediction in this competition, which was highly praised by the experts attending the competition.
