On April 15th, in response to the strategic deployment of the country to build an internet powerful nation, a digital China, and a smart society, CQUPT implemented Chongqing’s innovation-driven development strategy led by big data intelligence, built a national new-generation artificial intelligence innovation development experiment zone, deepened our university’s “One Place, Two Highlands” construction, and created an academic atmosphere for the 70th anniversary of the establishment of our university. At the invitation of our university, Hu Guoping, senior vice president of iFLYTEK and dean of the Institute of Artificial Intelligence of iFLYTEK, attended the Wenfeng Cloud Lecture of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of our university, and gave a special academic report on the “Technical Essence and Industrial Opportunities of the Third Artificial Intelligence Wave”. Vice President Xu Guanghong presided over the report meeting in the Academic Report Hall of the Library, with 300 teachers and students from inside and outside the university listening to the report online.
President Hu Guoping elaborated the technological essence and industrial opportunities behind artificial intelligence from the perspectives of scientific research and practical application. The report introduced the technical essence, and the principle and key points of deep learning behind the third wave of artificial intelligence. Combined with the latest technology development of iFLYTEK’s artificial intelligence, this report explained the three development stages of artificial intelligence technology in details, and then analyzed the development status of perceptual intelligence technology and the strategic significance and challenges of cognitive intelligence technology. With a series of typical application examples and latest achievements of artificial intelligence technology, this report explained two main ways of application of artificial intelligence, and pointed out that the space of artificial intelligence industry was extremely broad but its talents were in short supply. In addition, the report introduced three levels of AI talents. At the report meeting, teachers and students interacted online with President Hu on the route of in-depth learning and the difficulties faced by promoting industrial intelligence at this stage.
The report further expanded the vision of teachers and students for the forefront of science and technology in the field of big data intelligence, and stimulated the enthusiasm of teachers and students of our university to devote themselves to the research and development of core science and technology in the field of big data intelligence. In short, this report gained a strong response.
