On the afternoon of April 13th, Big Data Intelligence Cloud Lecture jointly organized by our university and Intel FPGA China Innovation Center began lecturing. The people attended the online lecture included Tian Liang from CTO of Chongqing AWCloud Technology Co., Ltd., some experts from Intel FPGA China Innovation Center, deans of School of Optoelectronic Engineering and School of Computer, and more than 300 teachers and students.
Gao Pei and Zhang Cong, senior architects of Chongqing AWCloud Technology Technology Co., Ltd., gave a lecture about “The Cases and Applications of FPGA”. Through cloud live telecast, they briefly analyzed the technical characteristics of FPGA, and made a detailed introduction to the applications and cases of FPGA in various industries covering fields such as medical, communications, face recognition, military aerospace and others. Further, through their analysis of the SOC-based license plate recognition cases, they fully explained the FPGA project development process and software and hardware implementation methods to the teachers and students at the meeting.
On December 8th, 2019, CQUPT and Intel FPGA China Innovation Center established an “Intelligent Perception and Mobile Computing” Joint Laboratory, cooperating to build a talent cultivation base (at School of Optoelectronic Engineering) and a technology innovation base (at School of Computer). The joint laboratory is listed in the university’s Comprehensive Experiment Building, jointly constructed and managed by the three parties with the experiment center of School of Optoelectronic Engineering responsible for its daily operation. It aims to strengthen the integration of production and education and further deepen a long-term cooperation between the Intel FPGA Innovation Center and our university in scientific research, teaching, talent training, and teacher training.
