Seven Majors of CQUPT Have Been Selected as National First-class Undergraduate Major Construction Sites
Recently, the Ministry of Education has announced a List of National and Provincial First-class Undergraduate Professional Construction Sites in 2019. Seven majors of Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications, including Measurement and Control Technology and Instruments, Electronic Information Engineering, Communication Engineering, Microelectronic Science and Engineering, Automation, Software Engineering, Intelligent Science and Technology, had been selected into the List of National First-class Undergraduate Specialty Construction Sites. In addition, eight majors, such as Mechanical Design and Manufacturing and Automation, Optoelectronic Information Science and Engineering, Computer Science and Technology, Information Security, IoT Engineering, Information Management and Information Systems, Marketing, Radio and Television Choreographer, had been selected into the List of Provincial First-class Undergraduate Majors. Previously, 20 majors of CQUPT had been selected as the first-class undergraduate major construction sites in Chongqing.
Since April 2019, Ministry of Education has begun to implement the “Double First-Class Program” for the construction of first-class undergraduate majors, which plans to build about 10,000 state-level first-class undergraduate majors and about 10,000 provincial-level first-class undergraduate majors between 2019 and 2021. The National and Provincial First-class Undergraduate Professional Construction Sites are evaluated and voted by the Teaching Committee of Ministry of Education in accordance with the spirit of the Notification of the General Office of the Ministry of Education on the Implementation of the “Double First-Class Program” for the Construction of First-class Undergraduate Majors, which has been declared by various universities and examined by the competent departments of colleges and universities. In the first batch, there are 4,054 national first-class undergraduate professional construction sites (including 1,691 central track and 2,363 local track), and 6,210 provincial first-class professional construction sites.
The 15 major construction sites selected by CQUPT, with rich teaching achievements, distinctive training characteristics and obvious demonstration function, cover core advantage professional groups such as Electronic Information, Computer and Automation will strongly promote the university's connotative development and realize the overall improvement of talent training ability.
