Speed Up the Building of “Smart Town” and “Smart City” Space Communication Research Institute of CQUPT Signs a Contract to Settle in Liangjiang New Area

CQUPT News (provided by Office of Industry-University-Research, and edited by AoYongchun)On December 5th, Liangjiang New Area and CQUPT officially signed an agreement to jointly build Research Institute of space Communication of CQUPT in Liangjiang Collaborative Innovation Zone. The two sides would work together to meet the national and local major strategic needs, especially the needs of technological innovation and industrial development in the field of space communications, and continue to deepen all-round cooperation to achieve complementary advantages, mutual benefit and win-win results.

Duan Chenggang, member of the Standing Committee of Chongqing Municipal Committee, secretary of the Party Working Committee and director of the Management Committee of Liangjiang New Area, and Li Lin, secretary of the Party Committee and president of CQUPT attended the signing ceremony.

Xu Guanghong, vice president of our university, and Wang Zhijie, deputy secretary of the Party Working Committee and executive deputy director of the Management Committee of Liangjiang New Area signed the agreement on behalf of both parties.

The Institute of Space Communication of CQUPT will be committed to tackling key technologies in the fields of B5G information technology, laser communication, B5G and satellite communication system integration technology, space-land integration information technology, new network and terminal testing, wireless information and network security. At the same time, as a technology transfer and transformation platform of CQUPT, it will promote in-depth cooperation between industry, university and research, and promote industrial incubationscientific research projects. At the same time, the Research Institute,based on the early university-enterprise cooperation foundation of CQUPT, will drive a number of international IT leading enterprises to set up branches in the new area, and further expand the development of digital economy industry in Liangjiang New Area.

Personnel training is also a key part of this cooperation. According to the agreement, the communication research institute will further promote the joint training of talents between the university and enterprises in the new area, develop customized talents guided by industrial technology and actual needs of enterprises, and further solve the problem of lack of talents in enterprises.

At present,by continuously increasing innovation support and optimizing innovation ecological environment, Liangjiang New Area has gathered 256 R&D platforms above the municipal level, 6 national innovation bases, 413 high-tech enterprises with the R&D investment accounts for 3.6% of GDP.
