Our University Achieves Success in the 16th “Challenge Cup” Competition

From November 7th to 13th, the final of the 16th “Challenge Cup” National College Student Extracurricular Academic Science and Technology Works Contest was held at Beihang University.

Our university had 6 participating works, ofwhich 2 works “Real-time Analysis and Warning System for User Behavior Based on Video Semantic Understanding” and “Substation Instrument Intelligent Recognition System” won the national second prize, and the remaining 4 works won the national third prize. In addition, in the 16th “Challenge Cup” Chongqing Finals held in June this year, our university won 8 grandprizes, 6 first prizes, 4 second prizes, and 2 third prizes. Our university was ranked among the top universities in Chongqing in terms of award level, quantity and total score in national competitions and city-level competitions.

The 16th “Challenge Cup” National University Students Extracurricular Academic Scientific and Technological Works Competition was co-sponsored by the Central Committee of the Communist Young League, China Association of Science and Technology, Ministry of Education, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the national student federation and the Beijing Municipal Government. The theme of “challenging to build dreams and serving the country through science and technology” has attracted nearly 3 million young students from 1,573 universities across the country. Through provincial selection, a total of 1,513 works from the mainland participated in the national competition, and 426 works entered the live finals. During the final review, more than 100 expert judges from scientific research institutes, research agency, high-tech enterprises and other fields will conduct assessments in the form of booth inquiry and on-site defense. The “Challenge Cup” competition, held every two years, is the largest, highest-level, and most influential student science and technology innovation competition in China,known as the “Olympics” of contemporary college students’ academic technology.
