Our University Hosts “Quantum Information Technology Summit”of the Chongqing Talent Conference 2019

It is one of the most important frontier science and technology fields today. It will have a profound impact on the 21st century, China’s industrial economy, and people’s lives. While celebrating the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China throughout the country and studying and implementing the spirit of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 19th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, the “Quantum Information Technology Summit”, as one of the important activities of the “Chongqing Talent Conference 2019”, was held at the Chongqing Sheraton Hotel on November 10th. The summit was hosted by the Organizing Committee of Chongqing Talent Conference, CQUPT, the 32nd Research Institute of China Electronics Technology Group, and co-organized by Beijing Daheng New Era Technology Co., Ltd. and ShenzhenPowerleader Computer System Co., Ltd.
There were Shen Jinqiang, deputy director of the Standing Committee of the Chongqing Municipal People’s Congress; Wu Peiheng, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences; Brian Gerardot, chief expert on emerging technologies at the British Academy of Engineering;Jiang Bo, director of the 32nd Research Institute of China Electronics Technology Group; Lin Li,the Party secretary and presidentof CQUPT as well as Ren Xiaomin, former vice president of Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, director of the national key laboratory of Information Photonics and Optical Communications, and all of them attended the summit. The guests who attended the forum were more than 70 experts and scholars,includingthree winners of the National Outstanding Youth Fund, three experts from the National Thousand Talents Program, one member of 973 Chief Scientist,one subject matter expert of the Military Commission of Science and Technology, one expert of the Hundred Talents Program of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and one Humboldt scholar of Germany.
In addition, participating experts and scholars from well-known universities at home and abroad, well-known research institutes, and authoritative companies in the field of quantum information technology made result reports and exchanged discussions. Among the participating universities at home and abroad were Nanjing University, University of Science and Technology of China, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Zhejiang University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, Jinan University, Heriot-Watt University, Glasgow University, etc. The well-known research institutes participating in the summit included the 13nd Research Institute of China Electronics Technology Group, the 26th Research Institute of China Electronics Technology Group, the 44th Research Institute of the China Electronics Technology Group, the Institute of Quantum Information and Quantum Technology Innovation of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the Green Intelligent Technology Research Institute. The authoritative participating companies in the field of quantum information technology included Hefei Origin Quantum Computing Technology Co., Ltd., QuantumCTek Co., Ltd., Inspur Group High-performance Computing Center, Chengdu ZhongweidaxinTechnology Co., Ltd., etc. This would expand Chongqing’s influence in the field of quantum information technology at home and abroad, and play an important role in promoting academic exchanges, industry-university-research cooperation, talent introduction, and industrial development in the field of quantum information technology.
