CQUPT News (provided by Office of International Cooperation and Exchange/ Office of HongKong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs, and edited by AoYongchun.)On the morning of November 11th, 2019, Sergey Bachevskiy, President of St. Petersburg State University of Telecommunications who was invited to participate in the Chongqing Talent Conference as a partner of our university, and his delegation visited our university. Li Lin, the university’s Party Secretary and President, met with guests in Room 201 of Shaw Building. The two sides had a friendly and in-depth talk. Many people attended the talk as well, including Vice President Xu Guanghong, leader of the Science and Technology Division, heads of Office of International Cooperation and Exchange and other departments, as well as representatives of the research team from School of Communications, School of Computer Science and Technology, and School of Automation.
On behalf of the university, Li Lin warmly welcomed Sergey Bachevskiy and his delegation, stating that Russia is a China’s comprehensive strategic cooperative partner. This year is the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Russia. The two universities should seize this historical opportunity to further promote the friendship and practicality of China and Russia and promote higher education and technology cooperation between the two universities.
Sergey Bachevskiy also expressed his confidence and expectations for the cooperation between the two universities. And he promised that he would carry out all-round cooperation with our university in the fields of scientific and technological development, teacher exchange, and joint construction and sharing of education. The delegation of St. Petersburg State University of Telecommunications also visited the research sites of School of Communication and Information Engineering, School of Computer Science and Technology, School of Automation of our university, and exchanged ideas with our university’s scientific research teams in related fields. Representatives of the two sides conducted full exchanges and in-depth discussions on cooperation content and methods, and formulated related cooperation areas and promotion plans.
The delegation of St. Petersburg State University of Telecommunications also held talks with the editorial board members of the journal Digital Communication and Networks (DCN) of our university, and discussed and exchanged issues on the development of journals and win-win issues of DCN editorial board resources. The two sides reached a lot of consensus and incorporated a cooperation framework between the two universities.
