On August 27th, Professor Martin Hellman, winner of “ACM Turing Award” which is an international top academic award in the computer field, and the founder of blockchain cryptography basis -- asymmetric encryption, visited our university and made an academic report.
Professor Martin Hermann gave an academic report entitled “Information Security in Today’s Interconnected World” to our teachers and students. He introduced basic principles and implementation process of public key cryptosystems in a simple way around several key issues such as “Why encrypt? Why do we need public key encryption, privacy and authentication, attacks and risks?”, which made our teachers and students attending the lecture deeply inspired. In the questioning session, the teachers and students enthusiastically raised questions, and Professor Martin Hermann answered theirquestions one by one and took photos with some of them.
Before the meeting, Professor Martin Hermann visited School History Museum of our university and highly praised its achievements in the field of information and communication.
