Our University Wins the “China Collegiate Computing Test -- Big Data Challenge” 2019

On August 24th, the final of the “China Collegiate Computing Test - Big Data Challenge” 2019 was held at Tsinghua University. The “Progressing” team consisting of Chen Chongyuan, who is a 2015-year undergraduatefrom the Key Laboratory of Data Engineering and Visual Computing of our university, Liu Longhang and Zhang Dongchang, who are the postgraduates fromHarbin Institute of Technology, stood out from more than 4,600 teams throughout the country and won the first prize and 150,000 yuan in the final,and Professor Wang Jin won the award of excellent guidance teacher. Two teams from the Key Laboratory of Data Engineering and Visual Computing of our universityenteredthe top ten in this competition, of which the “sayoulala” team consisting of 2015-year undergraduate Zhou Yang, 2018-yearpostgraduate Zhang Ruifrom our university and postgraduate Zhang Junhongfrom Sun Yat-sen University won the 6th place in the final, and the “drift” team composed of postgraduate HuanShuaifromBeijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, 2018-year postgraduates HaoShoudi and Li Ying from our university won the 7th place in the final. The three teams were awarded a total of 170,000 yuan.

“China Collegiate Computing Test- Big Data Challenge” 2019is co-sponsored by the College Computer Professional Teaching Steering Committee under Ministry of Education, the Software Engineering Professional Teaching Steering Committee under Ministry of Education, the University Computer Education Teaching Steering Committee under Ministry of Education, and National University Computer Educational Research Association, having been listed as a high-level big data algorithm competition in the national general university academic competition list. The contest attracted more than 4,900 college students from all over the world. After nearly half a year of selection, there were ten teams entering the finals, includingthose from Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications, Harbin Institute of Technology, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Sichuan University, University of Electronic Science and Technology, Dalian University of Technology, Peking University, Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, Sun Yat-sen University, Beihang University, Shandong University and Fudan University.
