The 14th National College Students NXP Cup Intelligent Automobile Competition Western Competition Is Held in CQUPT
On the morning of July 24, the 14th National College Students NXP Cup Intelligent Automobile Competition was held in our university.The competition was sponsored by the Automation Teaching Steering Committee of the Ministry of Education, NXP (China) Management Co., Ltd., and Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications.
Li Lin,Secretary of the Party Committee and President of CQUPT;Professor Liu Ding,Vice Chairman of the Teaching Steering Committee of Automation Specialty under Ministry of Education, former President of Xi’an University of Technology, famous teacher of National “Ten Thousand People Plan”;Professor TuYaqing of Military Service College, Member of the Teaching Steering Committee of Automation Specialty under Ministry of Education, ; Professor Qian Bin of Kunming University of Science and Technology, Member of the Teaching and Instruction Committee of Automation Specialty under Ministry of Education;Mr. Wang Peng of Tsinghua University,Secretary of the Teaching Steering Committee of Automation Specialty under Ministry of Education;heads of Dean’s Office and School of Automation;teachers and team leaders of the Western Competition Areas attended the opening ceremony.
The 14th National College Students NXP Cup Intelligent Automobile Competition is divided into five sub-contest areas, three provincial contest areas and one finals area. There are 378 teams from 96 universities in 15 provinces and municipalities participating in the contest.
The National Intelligent Automobile Competition for College Students is an exploratory engineering practice for college students in China, guided by the guiding ideology of “based on training, emphasizing participation, encouraging exploration and pursuing excellence”.With the task of complex engineering problems such as intelligent automobiles, which can drive independently on a specific track and have superior performance, it encourages college students to form teams and make comprehensive use of multidisciplinary knowledge to propose, analyze, design, develop and study the mechanical structure, electronic circuits, motion control and economic cost of intelligent automobiles,to stimulate college students’ interest and potential in engineering technology development and scientific research, and to advocate the style of study in integrating theory with practice and seeking truth and pragmatism, and humanistic spiritin teamwork.
