On the morning of May 27th, 2019, the ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 41 Plenary Meeting was held in Chongqing, hosted by the Standardization Administration of China and undertaken by CQUPT and CESI.

, attended the meeting.
Xu Quanping, deputy director of Standard Innovation Management Department under the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration IEC; Liu Wei, Deputy Inspector of Chongqing Economic and Information Commission; and Xu Guanghong, Vice President of CQUPT, attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches.
As an iconic technology to set off the third wave of revolution in the information industry, Internet of Things technology has been widely used in intelligent industry, smart home, smart transportation, smart city and other fields, and has accelerated the change of our way of life and production. The standardization of the global Internet of Things technology is the foundation and key of the large-scale application of the Internet of Things. The meeting was held for 6 days. The main topics include more than 20 international standards and technical reports, such as interoperability of Internet of Things, underwater acoustic sensor networks, wireless sensor network systems supporting substations, real-time Internet of Things framework, and edge computing.
The main work of ISO/IEC JTC 1 SC 41 Sub-technical Commission on Internet of Things and Related Technologies includes the development and definition of international standards on Internet of Things and related technologies under JTC1, the establishment of a work group on Internet of Things Architecture (WG 3), a work group on Internet of Things Interoperability (WG 4), a work group on Internet of Things Applications (WG 5), and research groups such as Wearable Technologies, Trusted Internet of Things, Industrial Internet of Things, Edge Computing, Real-time Internet of Things, and it will pay attention to the laws and regulations, market, industrial and technological needs of the Internet of Things, and formulate the basic norms of the Internet of Things.
The Internet of Things Research Team of CQUPT is one of the earliest teams engaged in research and development of Internet of Things in
. It has developed the first EPA international standard with independent intellectual property rights in the field of
’s industrial automation. As a main editorial unit of the project, it has led the development of ISO/IEC. 19,637 Sensor Network Test Framework, ISO/IEC 21823-2 Internet of Things Interoperability Part II Transmission Interoperability, ISO/IEC 30148 IoT Wireless Gas Meter Sensor Network Technology Requirements and Applications and other international standards; it has also co-edited a number of international standard projects and developed the world’s first industrial IoT core chip supporting the three major industrial wireless international standards and has achieved a series of international influences on the scientific research, system development and personnel training of the Internet of Things. The convening of this meeting will enhance Chongqing’s ability to formulate and implement standardization, promote exchanges and collaboration between Chongqing and its counterparts at home and abroad in the standardization of the Internet of Things, make high-level achievements in the research of the technical standards of the Internet of Things, enhance the in-depth development of Chongqing’s theoretical research and practice of the Internet of Things, and further expand Chongqing’s influence in the field of the Internet of Things at home and abroad. It has provided a rare opportunity for the development of the Internet of Things industry in Chongqing and even the whole country.
