Students of CQUPT Win a Silver Medal in the 4th China Collegiate Programming Contest (Jilin)

CQUPT News (provided by School of Computer Science and Technology, and edited by Ao Yongchun)On recent days, students of our university -- Guan Shuqing, Liu Qian and Zhou Xingyu --won the Silver Award in the Jilin Division of the 4th China Collegiate Programming Contest 2018. Hosted by Chinese Collegiate Programming Contest Organizing Committee, the 4thChina Collegiate Programming Contest (CCPC) was held at Beihua University, Jilin City, Jilin Province. And it was attended by 227 teams from 144 universities including Tsinghua University, Peking University, Nanjing University, Zhejiang University, Sun Yat-Sen University, etc. After a fierce competition, Peking University, Nanjing University and Zhejiang University took the first, second and third places respectively.

Being an international annual event open to college students all over the world, China Collegiate Programming Contest is hosted byChinese Collegiate Programming ContestAssociation, aiming at encouraging contemporary college students to use computer programming techniques and skills for dealing with practical problems, stimulating their interest in learning algorithms and programming, and cultivating their team spirit, innovation ability and challenging spirit. The competition system is implemented with reference to ACM-ICPC (ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest). Each team is made up of 3 players and 1 coach to deal with 12 problems in English within 5 hours.

CPCC is one of the major events that School of Computer Science and Technology organizes students attend. Organized by the ACM Competition Committee, it is open to all students of CQUPT. New members are recruited each semester and trained every weekend and summer vacation, and they take part in the school competitions and pre-competition trails to acquire qualifications before participating in the uniformly organized national network contests to become qualified for live contests.
