CQUPT Holds the Ba-Yu Cultural Researching Camp of College Students from Chongqing, Hongkong and Macao, 2017
On the afternoon of June 11, Exchange Program for Students and Teachers of Universities of Hongkong, Macao, and the Mainland of Ministry of Education, 2017—“Ba-Yu Cultural Researching Camp of College Students from Chongqing, Hongkong and Macao” was rounded off. The activity was held at a time that marks the 20th Anniversary of Hongkong’s Return to China, the 18th Anniversary of Macao’s Return to China, and the 20th Anniversary of the Founding of Chongqing Municipality directly under the Central Government, attracting 25 students from Hongkong University, The Chinese University of Hongkong, The Hongkong University of Science and Technology, University of Macao, and Macao Polytechnic Institute.
The activity focused on study of Ba-Yu culture and patriotic education. During the one-week communications and exchanges, students from Hongkong and Macao visited Chongqing Counter-Japanese War Site Museum and attended lectures related to Chinese history and culture. They also conducted researches into customs in Ba-Yu Region, field visits to enterprises of Chongqing, and activities for promoting friendship between them, and students of CQUPT were organized. After various visits and researches, investigations on special topics and mutual exchanges, the students from Hongkong and Macao have strengthened their national emotions and patriotic feelings, so does their understanding of Chongqing history, cultural heritage, and Chongqing’s important economic role in the connectivity of “The Belt and Road Initiative” and the Yangtze River Economic Belt.
Apart from having promoted communications and exchanges among students from Chongqing, Hongkong, and Macao, the activity has enhanced the friendship among students from three regions, and students’ sense of identity and national sense of mission. Meanwhile, it provides opportunities for exchanges and communications between CQUPT and universities of Hongkong and Macao, laying the foundation for further promoting deeper cooperation between CQUPT and universities of Hongkong and Macao.
With the purpose of strengthening and expanding exchanges in reciprocal visits, personnel training, and scientific research, “Hongkong and Macao and the Mainland Universities Exchange Program” of Ministry of Education (short for “Ten Thousand Talents Program”) was put into practice in June 2013. CQUPT was one of the first batch of universities listed in the Program by Ministry of Education.
