School of Communication and Information Engineering

The School of Communication and Information Engineering of Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications is devoted to enhancing the communication related traditional disciplines, and has attached great significance to developing the students' hands-on engineering competence as well as the whole course communication network engineering capability. The school boasts a state-level experimental teaching demonstration center on 'mobile communication technologies and networks', two   city-level experimental teaching demonstration centers on 'communications technology and networks' and 'circuits', five provincial or ministerial key laboratories or research centers like the 'Research Center of Ministry of Education on Communication Engineering', plus another 28 off-campus field training bases.   

The school now has a student body of over 5,100 full-time undergraduates and graduates, a faculty of 120 members, and has produced more than 22,000 undergraduates and graduates plus 40 doctoral students.   The school runs a discipline of doctoral project on 'Information and Communication Engineering ', provincial and ministerial level key disciplines on 'Communication and Information System', 'Signal and Information Processing', 'Mobile Technology', 'Optical Fiber Communications Technology', 'Signal and Information Processing', and 'Communications Network Testing Technology' as well as many other provincial key laboratories and engineering research centers.  

 The school has clung to the philosophy of 'teaching and research via the industry, based on the industry and catering for the industry'.   Therefore, the school has collaborated closely with China's major telecom companies, radio and television stations, in additional to multitudes of world renowned IT enterprises such as Huawei, ZTE Datang and so forth.    Meanwhile, the school has been running the joint programs of the scientific research, teacher training and students' duel degrees with large preeminent scientific research institutions like Finnish National Technology Research Institute, Germany Hertz Institute, Germany's Infineon, and many prestigious universities such as Swansea University of Britain, Mason University of the United States, Nanyang Technological University of Singapore.
